I’ve had the advantage of having a vantage point of this remarkable event and had to do something about it! Every Sunday morning the vendors of the Brooklyn Flea market haul all of their stuff to the empty lot on the banks of the East River in Williamsburg. They set up tents, ovens, grills, esspresso machines; lug furniture, lamps, artwork and clothes and a few hours later the lot that was a dust bowl is transformed into a colorful and often crowded floor to a unique market where you can find some of the most exquisite art from talented artists, vintage jewlery you’ve only dreamed of, original Dooney & Bourke hand-bags, rugs… I mean it’s honestly endless. The food vendors are out of this world, cupcakes with bacon all the way to brick oven pizza. If you haven’t been yet, don’t miss your chance. Information can be found at the Brooklyn Flea Market’s site.
